As part of our activities in the field of the arts and our ongoing partnership with the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève, we are very pleased to be involved int the exhibition “Biens Publics“.
“Mamco is twenty years old! An anniversary to celebrate for this institution that has been able to establish itself over the years onboth the Genevan and the international art scene. On this occasion and in response to a proposal from Christian Bernard, the Musées d’art et d’histoire de Genève (MAH) are holding, at Musée Rath, Public collections, an exhibition featuring selected works from the collections of the Mamco, the MAH and the Contemporary Art Funds of the City and the Canton of Geneva. This exhibition allows one to measure the progress that has been made over forty years in discovering the visual culture of our age. It was after the exhibition 20th century Art. Geneva collections, held in 1973 by the MAH, that the idea of a museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art took shape in Geneva. Public collections is thus intended to be a tribute to the enthusiasm and perseverance of its early proponents.”
The exhibition will take place at the Musée Rath between the 25th of February and the 26th of Aprill 2015.
